The machine's size doesn't matter as long as it can reproduce itself from the major elements found in the earth's mantle and core: iron, magnesium, aluminum and silicon. However the idea has been taken entirely to a new level in an episode of the animated series, Justice League, titled "Dark Heart." The episode featured a war machine from another planet landing on earth. The machine composed of nano-technology would replicate itself from anything on earth. Eventually it would replicate itself from humans.
Although the scientific predictions of doomsday are fairly interesting and somewhat cool, it is the Bible's interpretation of the End of Days which is, to some people, much more frightening.
The book tells the chronology of events that will stealthily occur with the aid of the slow rise of a creature known as the antichrist.
According to religious texts, such as Revelations and Timothy, the end will not come in an instant. In fact, the end will seem like a new beginning.
According to the Bible, the world will face turmoil and chaos; that is, until the creature arrives and tricks people into worshipping him. He would unify the world and promote peace. His benevolence will grant him great power.
"He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation." - Revelations 13:7.
Eventually, The Rapture will occur. Those who have faith in God would vanish from the Earth and travel to Heaven to meet Christ.
"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." - Thessalonians 4:17.
However, those left behind would suffer for seven years under the rule of the antichrist. The peace which the antichrist used as cover will be betrayed. According to a History Channel special dealing with Armageddon, the Prince of Evil would make a seven year peace treaty with Israel, but before the seven year period is concluded, the prince would break the agreement and make war.
