As of February of 2007, the Impact Staff will update its section entitled "Impact Staff Blogs" every Monday while Mercy Classes are in attendance. It is part of our new mission to keep you reading! (and keep us writing…)
So what is a Blog? A blog is actually a term derived from "Web Log" that was eventually merged into one word.

MARCH 5 - There's a time and a place for everything.
Unfortunately, this is a concept that seems to evade those people who should benefit the most from it.
It seems like everywhere I turn, someone is offering his or her thoughts about the current administration of our government.

March 18 - She Said the V-Word, OH NO!
Words are just words right. So why do words evoke so much emotion from people. Certain words are taboo, of course there are the standard and traditional expletives we aren't allowed to print or utter, but what about words that technically shouldn't be considered taboo.

March 18 - Baseball's back you guys!
I am so excited.
Specifically, I'm excited about the return of Yankee baseball.
(Mets fans, I guess you can turn back here.)
It's been a long off-season; you can only see so many episodes of "Yankeeography" and games from 1996 before you just want to watch some live baseball.

MARCH 5 - Another baseball season is upon us and all of New York is excited. Whether fans are rooting for the Mets or the Yankees, the tension builds.
Of course it all starts with pitchers and catchers, then the position players. It wouldn't be spring training without the entire New York media swarming the players and coaches with various questions.

March 5 - Have you ever found yourself arguing with a person and then realizing you are not being heard, and when the whole thing is done nothing was accomplished and that you are just emotionally drained?
Many of these pointless arguments happen in our day-to-day relationships and become even worse if you are in love with the person.

Oh, Britney. What happened?
How did it get to this point?
Remember when you were hanging with Justin and JC and Christina and Ryan on the Mickey Mouse Club?
Remember when "…Baby One More Time" came out and we all got obsessed and secretly learned the dance moves in our bedrooms?
(Not that I did that.

MARCH 5 - After a summer in which the New York Islanders fired General Manager Neil Smith after only 40 days on the job, and then hiring former backup goalie, Garth Snow to replace him, the Islanders were the joke of the National Hockey League.
Owner Charles Wang, a millionaire from computer software, decided to hire the coach and general manager himself, instead of letting the GM hire his own coach.

YouTube has become an Internet sensation. Hundreds of thousands of videos ranging from clip of television shows, music videos and home videos have been posted since the site was founded in February of 2005. Currently YouTube staffs 67 employees and was named "invention of the year" in 2006, but not all the videos are worthy of the "invention of the year" website and the website is coming under fire for what its members post.

Most of the free agents that will make an impact have been signed, and now we hear the predictions; who will win the division? What about the World Series? Who has the best team? When this starts to happen, it can only mean one thing: Spring Training.
Finally, for the first time since the October Classic, our favorite teams and stars will roam the clean cut outfield and dirty their uniforms on the hard dirt that graces the infield.

As if having Prince star in the half time show wasn't strange enough, the opening drive of the game was a 92 yard kickoff return and touchdown by the Chicago Bears' Drew Hester that resulted in Hester becoming the first player to return the opening kickoff for a touchdown.

A Nine hundred and ninety pound colossal squid that was found in Willington New Zealand has caused a lot of talk around the world. A fisherman has stated that "this is the biggest specimen ever captured." My question is, why did they need to capture it? The colossal squid, also known by the scientific name Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni, are estimated to grow 49 feet long, and known to be the most mysterious creature of the sea.

About a month ago I read an interesting article about a man from Vancouver, Canada who confessed to killing 49 women. The story is bone chilling. Robert William Pickton had a 17 acre farm where he lured women mostly prostitutes and drug addicts into his farm and then killed them.
